And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4 NKJV)

A child’s usual feeling on her first day in school could be exciting, slightly nervous but safe while with parents. Then, they become scared, anxious, and are crying the moment their parents leave. As Christians, we never forget the Great Spirit we felt the day we became members of Christ’s body – the day we were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We felt very blessed when we faithfully believed we became children of the Most High God. We are excited to take the first steps of our Christian walk – feeling zealous as to how we can perform our duties in an excellent and acceptable way, that will give glory to our great God. We are confident that we are safe because our Spiritual Father, who never leaves us, has the full potential to save us physically and spiritually. As we go along, we are gradually introduced to different levels of tribulations, trials, and sufferings. These difficulties are like lessons of life that give us understanding and wisdom. They shape us into more persevering students of life and Disciples of Christ. Let us devote ourselves in the school of Godliness. Every test we pass will bring us closer to the image of Christ. These tests make us understand the ways of our Lord and feel His presence in our lives. Let us then continue to rejoice in suffering because of righteousness and for the sake of His Gospel – with the hope that finally, we shall receive the rewards not only in this life but the blessings of eternal life.
