In the morning sow your seed,
And in the evening do not withhold your hand;
For you do not know which will prosper,
Either this or that,
Or whether both alike will be good. (Ecclesiastes 11:6 NKJV)
We are planted in the house of the Lord. We should flourish in good works, in praise of the one who deeply cares for us. How are we being cared for? We are planted near streams of water. We are nourished continuously so as not to worry during dry spells but to be ever green, bearing fruits unceasingly. Green is the color that symbolizes abundant blessings, as in green pastures or green fields. We are blessed to be channels of blessings for others. If you withhold the blessings for yourself gratification alone, you will end up with nothing at all. You do not deserve the blessings for you do not share them. When you withhold your hand to the needy, it is as if you are withholding yourself to bear more fruits. When the fruits fall from the ground, anybody can pick them up and use them for their own purposes. When we give, we do not know if they will abuse them or not. They may use them to satisfy their evil desires or if they are, indeed, in need of the help which will be useful to them one way or the other. Whatever they do, it is them who will be judged in the end. As for you, your deeds shall be written in the Book of Acts in Heaven and certainly be counted as your righteousness. Your good work will never be in vain. Be encouraged brethren to do good to everyone especially to our fellow Christians, for in due season, we shall reap the eternal rewards.
