For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)

During the fasting of our Lord Christ Jesus, the devil tempted to lure the Lord into sinning. To leave us with a perfect example, He did not give importance to the things that He needed at that time and to the things most people would want in an instant. The Lord did not eat for 40 days. You can imagine His hunger at the time. For Him to fail in finishing His fast, the devil tempted Him to turn the stones into bread for Him to eat, but the Lord resisted. The devil tempted the Lord using the kingdoms of this world and their glory in exchange for worshipping him. The Lord successfully resisted these temptations because He did not walk by sight. Instead, He left us a perfect example of walking by faith. Everything that we can see through the naked eye will surely pass. These may give us happiness or satisfaction but all these will end. It is not wise to put our hopes on the things that we can see because if we do, the time these things are gone, our hopes will go with them. That is why we need to walk and do everything out of faith. Faith is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. The things unseen for the naked eye are heavenly and eternal. Faith will lead us to a road not everybody can see. This is the road that will take us to peace and happiness despite living in this troubled world
