He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20 NKJV)

Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are.” This saying, often times, is true because we tend to adapt to customs, beliefs, behavior, and thinking of the people we surround ourselves with. Although this does not teach us to discriminate anyone, we have to take care of ourselves by choosing to be surrounded with people who will help us improve and mature. As a Christian walking on this perilous earth, we have to be wise enough not to be deceived by the devil. The devil makes evil ways look pleasant to the naked eyes just like what he did when he deceived Eve and Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. That is why we should surround ourselves with wise people. Wise people know the difference between things that are essential in reaching heaven and things that will pull you down to damnation. It is fine to have friends who do not share the same faith as you, but do not forget to be with people who know exactly what your spiritual needs are and leads you to find them. Heavenly wisdom is all we need in attaining a peaceful life.
