Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4 NIV)
Where is your joy based on? Is it in the things you possess or events that we experience? If so, you know for a fact that that joy is temporary and passes away. Our delight must be in the Lord. It is permanent because it is spiritual. It is our souls that enjoy in the Lord. We find joy in loving and serving the Lord. We are happy hearing His Words, meditating His laws and living or obeying them. If we delight in Him, He will give us the desires of our hearts. Yes, brethren, He will put in our hearts what we want. Our desires will not be based on our carnal or worldly things which are not permanent and lead to sin, sadness and hurts. If we delight in God, our desires will take up new forms. They will be best for us and lead us to holiness, lasting joy and more blessings from the Lord.
