Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returnsthan gold. (Proverbs 3:13-14 NIV)
When Solomon ascended the throne as king of Israel, God gave him a chance to wish for anything he would desire. Instead of wealth, long life, King Solomon asked God to give him understanding to discern justice. Because of his wish, God granted King Solomon unsurpassed wisdom that enabled him to govern Israel and make it the greatest kingdom in his time. Due to King Solomon’s unsurpassed wisdom, Israel had what people call “the golden age of Israel.” By that time, Israel was considered the richest kingdom and no other kingdoms would dare to wage war with her. My beloved brethren, more than anything, let us pray for God to give us wisdom and discernment for these are the wealth we really need to have a peaceful and happy life. All material things will come and shall pass, but the knowledge from God forever will remain. It will guide us with our actions and decisions so that everything will result to our contentment and gladness.
