How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!(Proverbs 16:16 KJV)
We are always confronted with different choices. Let us admit that we made bad choices. God wants the best for us. His words serve as our guide to have the right choices in life. A young rich man asked Jesus how he can have eternal life. He said he has done all of the commandments. Jesus, then, said he has to sell his possessions and give to the poor and he will have treasures in heaven. The young man got sad because he has much wealth. He chose material wealth instead of spiritual wealth which provides eternal life. That is not just a bad choice but the worst choice ever. Gold and silver cannot buy you a ticket to heaven. You cannot bring them nor enjoy them when you die. Spend them and you lose them. They do not last. They can be stolen, rusted and burned. The treasures in heaven are better than them. You use them and it multiplies a hundredfold. It is never a baggage in your journey to heaven. Rather, they can make it easier and certain that you get to heaven. Some people are wise and wealthy at the same time. But if you have to make a choice, which one would you choose? Beloved brethren, choose wisdom that comes from God. The knowledge and understanding of the salvation of our soul comes from the words of God. Hear and obey God and He will make us truly rich. For us Children of God, we are blessed with both wisdom and wealth which are divine.
