Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering, as though you were suffering as they are. (Hebrew 13:3 GNB)
It is the time of fasting in the Holy Nation. The kind of fast chosen by the Lord is to remember and to liberate those who are in bondage of sins, to remove the wickedness in the land, to sympathize and help the afflicted, feed the poor and the hungry, and visit the sick and lonely. We are to extend a helping hand to everyone especially to the household of God. Every one of us needs help in one way or another. If we are able to help, do it. There will be times when we need help. Then, others may help us. We are duty-bound to help. Let brotherly love continue in the Holy Nation. Help out of love. To find out how, put ourselves in the situations of those we want to help. Feel and understand their predicament and act accordingly. Jesus, in order to liberate us, came and assumed human nature, felt compassion and sympathy to the poor, the sick, the blind, mute and lepers, and went about doing good. Jesus is able to help because He himself went through what we are going through in life. Jesus is alive and is still doing good through you and me.
