Gold Dust No. 254

It makes you look good when you avoid a fight– only fools love to quarrel.  (Proverbs 20:3 CEV)

“I will not go down without a fight” they say. People are always trying to prove themselves to everyone. Some may think that people will give high regard if they do not back down from any fight, may it be a brawl or a war of words. You may think you are smarter if you win over a heated debate; stronger if you bruised your opponent, but come to think of it, what have you proven afterwards? Will it benefit you if you hurt or embarrass someone? Why don’t we be like our Lord Christ Jesus? He became our superhero without beating someone up. He shared His immeasurable wisdom without shaming anyone. Instead, He was beaten, insulted, humiliated and vilified. After all these, was His glory taken from Him? No. In fact, His glory was revealed to the entire world because it is not hatred or vengeance, but love was exemplified in all the things that He did. Remember that there is no other way for the humble but up.
