What must i do to be saved?

Friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Peace be with you!

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

This is the most important question that one needs to have an answer to. It is a matter of life and death for everybody. To be saved is to spend eternal life in heaven but to be condemned to hell forever is the punishment for sins. The truth is “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. If anyone would not admit he is a sinner, then he is fooling himself, and worse, he is making God a liar.

DO YOU REALLY NEED SALVATION?

Our Lord Jesus Christ says,   “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26). He also says that instead of gathering material wealth which lasts only in this life, we must instead store for ourselves treasures in heaven. In essence, consider our spiritual salvation as the most important priority over all other material or temporal needs.

CAN YOU SAVE YOURSELF?

Apostle Paul declares this truth, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” (Romans 7:24). Man has become a slave of sin. The flesh is lording over the spirit of man making him submissive to the will of the flesh. Living according to the flesh leads to death. Whereas, living according to the spirit leads to life and peace. Satan has the power of death. Men have been slave of satan all their lives because of the fear of death. The question “What must I do.. “ Implies that man does not have the power to save himself from eternal condemnation. Man cannot save himself from eternal death.

THE GOOD NEWS! JESUS CHRIST IS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR!

The Lord Jesus Christ can set you free from sin and death. He is saying to you now, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (Joh 14:6). He will lead you to the right path to heaven. He will give you eternal life. He wants to save you because he loves you. He laid down his life for you so that you may be saved. Believe in Christ Jesus and you shall be saved.

IS BELIEVING ENOUGH TO BE SAVED?

Faith without works is dead. We cannot make assumptions regarding the salvation of our soul. Again the question implies “we must do” something to be saved. It is not enough that you believe. Believing in Jesus Christ is doing His will, living His words. We must build ourselves up on our most holy faith. It means, we have to act according to what we believe in.

SO, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Hear the words of God. Believe and have faith in God. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the words of God. Having faith in the Most High God, humble yourself and repent all your sins. Repentance is not just mere confession or admission. You must bear fruits of repentance. Meaning you must have a change of heart and prove it by living righteously. Be baptized in the body of Christ. Repentance and baptism are both necessary for the forgiveness of sins.(Acts 2: 37-38; 8:12-13; 8:35-38; 16:30-33; 1 Cor. 12:13 NIV)

WHAT IS THE BODY OF CHRIST?

The body of Christ is His Church. Christ is the Head of His Church. He is the Savior of His Church. It is the Church which he founded and established in Jerusalem. It is known as the Church of God in Christ Jesus. It is the Church for which he gave his life. This is the Church of God which he bought with His own blood. To be baptized in this Church is to become a member of His Spiritual body, the Church of God. He consecrated or devoted it for Himself. And since it is devoted to the Lord, it is most holy. The body of Christ of which we should all be baptized and be a member is The MOST HOLY CHURCH IN CHRIST JESUS. (Col. 1:18; Efe. 5:23; Mat. 16:18; 1 Tes. 2;14 (RSV); Act 20:28; Lev. 27:28)

May the voice of God be heard and return to Him with much praises from all of you.

The blessings of the Most High God be with you.
