This is the maiden issue of the official organ of the Most Holy Church of God in Christ Jesus amply called GODWARD! This initial issue also marks the 91st Church Anniversary, a fitting offering to honour our Lord Jesus Christ for founding His true Church in the Philippines, in accordance to His Eternal Purpose.
MOVING TOWARDS SPIRITUAL PERFECTION, is the banner theme of every issue, and states the very purpose why this ministry has been conceived.
Spiritual Perfection is what the Lord Jesus Christ wants us to achieve. He established the Most Holy Church in the last days to continue His work of salvation. We are called as His chosen people to become members of His Spiritual Body, His Church. We are sanctified or consecrated by His Holy Spirit through His words of truth. We are now the Saints of the Most High God because of His justification. He blotted out our sins through His blood shed on the cross. We are saved by His Agape love.
Being His true Disciples, the Lord Jesus Christ teaches and encourages us to be perfect in the image of the glory of God. (Mat. 5:48, Luc. 6:40). The Apostles exhort us towards spiritual perfection. Apostle Paul said, “Let us go on to perfection”, Apostle Jude encourages us “to build up ourselves on our most holy faith”, and Apostle Peter stated that we can only attain this through the grace of Jesus Christ who shall himself “perfect, establish and settle you”. (Heb. 6:1, Jude 20, 1Pet. 5:10).
As Disciples of Christ, we are taught God’s ways. Our way of life is righteousness, going upwards heaven, forwards to eternal life, thus, towards God. We died in our old selves and now live in our new nature created for godliness. We are now free from the bondage of sin, and are living a wonderful life in Christ, under the care of His beloved Church, the Most Holy.
We are now humbled to receive His saving grace. We are now mandated to lead others to our Lord Jesus Christ that they may also receive the salvation of their souls. It is the duty of every Faithful to share the Gospel of Salvation. In this Year of Discipleship, the whole body of Christ is boldly proclaiming our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We proclaim His Name, His Kingdom, the chosen generation, the royal priesthood, the holy nation … the Most Holy Church of God in Christ Jesus. It is our Mission to make Disciples of all nations until the glorious appearance of our Lord. This ministry is God-inspired to proclaim the Truth for the salvation of mankind.
This is our hope and we await the coming of the Lord.
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isa 40:31)
