I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you  may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel. (Isaiah 45:3)

Abba, you are Light, and in you there is no darkness at all. You promised to give us treasures of darkness which are hidden in secret places so that we may know you as the only Holy and Almighty God. Darkness represents a place where we experience uncertainty. We grope as to where we should go and we go very slowly, lest we fall.   We cannot see clearly in the dark. Though we see, they are only shadows of things around us. Terror envelope us when we are in the dark places of our life. We hear sounds that frighten us. When our door opens with an eerie sound, during the day, we are not frightened. But when it screeches at night we fear that there are burglars who enter our home. Lord, darkness implies troubles, fears, loneliness and emptiness. In darkness we cannot depend even to ourselves for our own shadows leave us. However, Lord, you are there as walk in the dark places of our lives. In dark, you show yourself to us in great intimacy. You do not leave us. Rather, you are there when darkness set in until the dawn of day comes. There are treasures you want to give us. They are hidden in secret places, in the dark that no can see. You show us clearly. You gave us the night vision. You reveal them to us, your beloved children that we may benefit from. You gave us your words, your truth, your promises that we can hold on to as our treasures. They give us the ability to see clearly through the eyes of faith. Yes, Lord, we can see things that the eyes cannot see. We can see your glory, your promises of triumphs. We succeed and overcome sufferings which make us rich in good works, treasures in heaven which do not perish but are eternal riches of heaven. We praise you Lord, that even in the dark, you fill our souls with your glory. Amen.
