But it leads to poverty.

In areas affected by droughts, cloud seeding is employed. They use dry ice or other chemicals to induce rain or improve the amount of rainfall. Applied to our Christian life, we experience economic or financial drought. When this happens, we need to plant some seeds. These seeds are our generous giving. The result would be marvelous. The rain will start to drop. When it rains, it pours. The floodgates of heaven will open and blessings will come forth. Planting the seed of faith is giving, in the hope that we will reap in due season. If we give generously, we honor God because we exemplify His generosity. Our giving supports God’s ministry. Many lips will worship and praise God because of our participation in His work in the field of soul winning. Furthermore, we declare our trust and dependence in His provisions for our daily needs. The way we give and what we give determines how we regard God. We do not give as if God is a beggar in dire need of help. He is the giver of everything we need and have. We do not give as if He is a lesser God, that we offer Him the least and the rejects. Let us give according to His worth, the very best of what we have. Do not give God something that costs you nothing.
