If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday. (Isaiah 58:10 NKJV)

God made us different from the people of the world. Everything we have came from Him. We are stewards and managers of the blessings which we can use to make a difference in this world. We have to live a life with a purpose. Christ showed us how. He walked on this earth almost two thousand years ago yet still influences people’s lives and will continue to do so until His return. He is the light that brightens our lives. We are His disciples, His children who should reflect His character. We are to also shine in this darkened world. We have to touch the lives of people around us. We are taught to love others as we love ourselves. It is this agape kind of love that will empower our hands to reach out to those who need help. Extending our soul to others means to sincerely sympathize and whole-heartedly do good works to them. We have to find ways to put a smile on people’s faces, give them comfort and peace of mind. Do unto others what you would like others do unto you. We shall reap what we sow. If we love others, then, we shall also be loved. Help others and you help yourself. It is not to say that we should expect any return on our good work but the reward is the consequence of it. Know that God is more generous than we are. He will give us more blessings so that we can do more good works. Keep your love burning and your light shining.
