Light shows up everything, just as the Scriptures say, “Wake up from your sleep and rise from death. Then Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14 CEV)
It is believed that as you die, you slowly lose your sense of touch, taste, smell, sight, and lastly, sound. Based on this belief, until the very bitter end, you are still capable of hearing everything that is going on around you. This could be reason people take comfort in talking to their loved one until the monitor finally gives in to the everlasting beep. In the case of our lifeless spiritual stage, the voice of Gospel which is the voice of the ever-loving God, Jesus Christ, awakened our soul. We were taken away from being dead in the work of God. Though before we were dead to all goodness and to every function of the spiritual life, we were given the right, the freedom and the power to discern, to do, to serve and worship, with excellence, the Excellent God! We are now addressed as possessing this capacity by using it properly. Maintain the exercises of a holy and spiritual life. Serve the Lord by offering ourselves living sacrifices, holy, which is our acceptable and reasonable service to Him.
