For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. (Mark 8:35 NIV)

There is a promise of abundant life for those who live, and died for Christ and  promoted the Gospel. Life is empty without a purpose. Its purpose is to preserve life itself. Plant a seed and bury it in the ground and time will come when the seed grows into a plant and into a fruit bearing tree of the same kind. One seed reproduces not one but many fruits. The same is true with Christ. He died so we can live. Christ gave us a new and abundant life, a life with a purpose to share and give so others may also live. Christ lives in us now. His Spirit is the life we live. We share His life by sharing His Gospel. We live according to the gospel. The Gospel is the Words of God. The words of God are true; they are a way of life and a life-giver, a life-saver. If we spend our life and die upholding the Gospel, we sure are holding on to dear life, the abundant life which is the everlasting life.
