Our human fathers correct us for a short time, and they do it as they think best. But God corrects us for our own good, because he wants us to be holy, as he is. (Hebrews 12:10 CEV)
“Correct a fool and he will hate you. Correct a wise man and he will appreciate you.” Discipline is essential to anyone who wants to be victorious especially in his Christian life. Without discipline, we will go anywhere we want and will do things anyhow we want. That way, we will never walk on to a straight line to success. We are human beings; therefore, we make lot of mistakes which is perfectly natural. However, as children of God, we are tasked to reach the perfection of holiness. In order for us to do so, we should be corrected from our mistakes. Sometimes, God disciplines us through our parents, the elderly, and the Church Administration. We should appreciate it, whenever someone corrects us, because it just proves that they care for us and they want us to do the right thing. In addition to that, we learn new things which will help us to avoid repeating our past mistakes and be able to do the right thing this time. Never hate someone who corrects you. Instead, thank them for God used them to teach us to be holy, just as our Father is holy.
