Gold Dust No. 306

Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. (Colossians 3:17 NASB)

There is no greater satisfaction than to serve the Lord. The happiness and fulfillment cannot be compared to anything that we pursue materially in life. Worldly happiness lasts only for a while but spiritual blessing lasts a long time. As children of God and members of His Body, the Church, each of us has a duty to do. Each part of our body has a function. Its duty is for the benefit of the whole body, the same way that we are not only to benefit as being part of the Church, but we have to do our part to serve the rest of the body. As each part of the body is committed to do its own work for the body, so are we duty-bound to do our duty in Church. Our task is to edify the body of Christ. We are to love the Church and care for it. We sacrifice in doing our duty for its sake. Coordinating and complementing each other is the way we can function effectively as a body. Let us do our own duty quietly and without murmuring. Christ is the Head of the Church. Let us devote ourselves to the work of Christ. His business is to save sinners and seek the lost. What are you busy about? Let us do our Father’s business! Do it for God’s sake. Do the mission in the name of Christ.
