Jesus said, “I can guarantee this truth: Anyone who gave up his home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or fields because of me and the Good News will certainly receive a hundred times as much here in this life. They will certainly receive homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields, along with persecutions. But in the world to come they will receive eternal life. (Mark 10:29-30 GW)
We are to love our family. We have to do all to make it strong and united in loving each other. However, we are to love God above all. If there is conflict between family and God, we have to choose God. This is true especially if we are believers in families of unbelievers. We may experience oppositions from them but we have to keep on serving God. “We shall obey God first before men.” No one can save us except the Lord Jesus Christ. If we lose our families because of our faith, do not lose heart because we have perfect parents, God our Father, the most Holy Church, our Mother, and we have each other in a loving relationship. Be happy because we are blessed with a family made in heaven.
