Gold Dust No. 287

Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

Christ is victorious and Satan is a defeated foe. Christ showed us how to fight the devil and avoid his traps. We can be victors and not victims if only we follow Christ’s examples. Satan is like a roaring lion waiting for his prey. If we fear him, we are already at the losing end. Note that he is already defeated and has no power over us. The only way he will have power over us is if we let him. Like a dog tied to a tree he can get near us and bite us only if we loosen his cord and how much we allow him to get near us. You see, if you give Satan an inch he will not just take a mile but will rule over you. Give him a hand and he will take not only your arm but your soul. So never ever give him a ride because he always wants to take the wheel and drive leading you to death. So how can you overcome? Surrender yourself to God first. Do not self-serve and self-help. Let God rule you in all aspects of your life from material, physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual. Secondly, do not yield or give in to his invitation. Learn to say “no” to him. The result is that he will flee from you. He will actually surrender and not bother you at all. I pray that you and I fight a good fight of faith. May God give us the strength and the wisdom to win.
