Give up your crooked ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the LORD our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins. (Isaiah 55:7 CEV)
The story of the prodigal son is our story. He left his father’s house with his inheritance to explore the outside world. He lived a wicked life disregarding his father’s advice. He lost all that he hasdincluding his dignity as a person. He came to his senses and decided to go back to his father where he can serve as a servant, not as a son, just so he can have a decent life. He did not expect forgiveness but his father took him back, dressed him as a son and prepared a feast for his return. He was dead but became alive again. That is your story and mine. We neglect and disregard our Father in Heaven who gives us all that we need. We always tend to go and prefer the world and its sinful lifestyle. We realize every now and then that we cannot be happy away from home. We go back to Him, to His love and care. He is always there waiting for you and me. Everyone has a chance of a blessed life with the Father in heaven. Sin separates you from God. The distance is not measured by miles. It is life and death, heaven and hell. Repent and return to Him. A warm welcome is waiting for you. God is there to forgive you and to be with you always.
