Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God. (Hebrews 13:16 GNB)
Our principal aim in life should be to please God. We worship Him in spirit and in truth and we offer sacrifices of thanksgiving to please Him. These are all duties that we should not forget. We should continue worshipping Him and thanking Him for as long as we live. However, living a holy life, being righteous and giving of oneself are greater offerings that please Him. Doing that is re-living Christ in us. Christ’s words were full of encouragement and comfort. His words proclaimed salvation of our souls. If I may say, how He lived His life was of greater beauty than His words. He offered Himself as a sacrifice so that we can have life. We should be encouraged to sacrifice for the greater good of our fellowmen. Do good and feel good. Christ is pleased if we sacrifice to save others from the penalty of sin. That is the greatest good we can do to our fellowmen.
