However, the person who continues to study God’s perfect teachings that make people free and who remains committed to them will be blessed. People like that don’t merely listen and forget; they actually do what God’s teachings say. (James 1:25 GW)
God has given to us His commands. If we obey His commands, we are testifying that we love Him. We cannot prove our love for Him by merely saying it. He wants us to live according to His laws. His laws are perfect. Obeying them gives us life. First, it liberates us from the sting of death. God, through His laws, gave us the power to triumph over sin. Second, if we dedicate ourselves in obeying His laws, God will bless us. He will continue to shower us with His love, care and affection. He will make us happy and secure in Him. Because we are recipients of these wonderful gifts by obeying His perfect laws, we increase in faith and our hopes do not waver whatever happens and wherever and whenever we are. Obeying His laws is like food to us. We cannot live without it. We do not forget doing it. It is our life. That is how we live; we obey Him with all our hearts, mind, soul and strength.
