And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. (Romans 4:19 NKJV)
The reason why we do not receive the covenant blessing is our unbelief of the one who made the promise. God is faithful to His promises. He is a covenant keeper. The question is us: are we doing our part in the Covenant? Abraham was promised to have child when he was 86 years old. He did not stagger in his faith. He looked for the fulfillment of the promise and received it after 14 years, when he was a hundred years old. All circumstances point to one thing, he will not have a child. It is impossible for him to have a child because he was too old and his body was weak. His wife, Sarah, was barren, and for 14 long years he waited but nothing happened. Yet, he did not see those limitations. He focused on the promise and received as God said. Brethren, let us see things with faith–the way God looks at things. Do not let our weakness hinder us to claim the promises of God. Do not look at our limitations, rather look at our limitless God. The promises come at the appointed time. God’s timing is always perfect. He prepares us to receive the blessing. Know that the blessings and curses under the covenant are for us to be corrected and strengthened in out faith in God. The blessings should move us to glorify and gratify God. You and I have the gift of faith. Let us make it our aim to make it perfect and turn it into most holy faith. Truly, nothing will be impossible if we have faith in the One who is Almighty.
