For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (Hebrews 6:10 NKJV)

When it seems like no one recognizes our hard work, it is easy to lose heart and be demotivated. When we feel this way, we should always examine our hearts and see the motives behind our actions. If our greatest motivation in doing the work of God or anything that we do is to be applauded and be recognized, always wanting to be given credit for a job well done, then maybe we are on the wrong path. Our work should be done out of love and not feed our ego. The only recognition we should aspire to achieve is that of the Lord’s. If we do everything out of love, for the glory of God, even if it entails sacrifices and hard work, be assured that in due time, the Lord will “crown your efforts” and “know that nothing you do in the Lord’s service is ever useless”. Oh, what a good thing to be called a good and faithful servant and share with the Master’s happiness!
