In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice. (Genesis 22:18 NKJV)

This is the Covenant Promise God made with Abraham. Abraham will be the father of nations. Through his seed, all nations will be drawn to God and will become part of the covenant promise. If you realize how God accomplishes this plan, you will surely be amazed and your faith will be truly strengthened. First is the scope of the promise. It will cover all nations, all people or tribes in planet earth–not only the Jews. Nations not belonging to Israel are gentile nations. We are naturally gentiles, without God and the promised blessings given to Abraham. Second, the offspring is the seed of Abraham. The single seed or offspring is Christ. Isaac is just the shadow of the real sacrifice who is Jesus, the seed of Abraham. Jesus is a Jew by physical race. The difference between the shadow and the real seed is that Isaac did not shed his blood. Abraham was stopped when he was about to kill Isaac, but in case of Jesus, He shed His blood on the cross. That truly was the sacrifice. If His blood was not poured out, we will not be redeemed from the punishment of our sins. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are saved. It is of the same faith that Abraham had. Third, we are Abraham’s seed because we are in Christ Jesus. Those who are in Jesus Christ are called and now belong to the one body of Christ, the Most Holy Church of God in Christ Jesus. The Jews and the Gentiles now have equal opportunity to be blessed through the Covenant promise, Let us keep our faith and fight for it. Faith must be alive. Faith without work is dead. Obedience to the commands of God is through working in us.
