With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! (Psalm 119:10 NKJV)

As we are citizens of heaven, we are only pilgrims of the world. As we are journeying towards our true home, our enemy, the devil, is busy laying snares along the way to distracts us, slow us down, and even stop us from reaching our home. What could these be? The devil’s traps could be the pursuit of our dreams that lead us away from God. It could be our busyness from our studies, jobs and business, and other trivial things in this life, robbing us of time we might be put instead in doing our ministry. It could also be our lack of faith when we allow ourselves to be stopped by the challenges and troubles we face. It can be our mere laziness and selfishness–when we choose to fulfill our own desires instead of the Lord’s. Indeed, there are so many traps the devil could lay on our way home, therefore we should be vigilant. We should have conscious effort in guarding ourselves from the works of the devil by focusing our minds to the Lord, in obeying His commandments whenever, wherever. Every day,let us ask ourselves, “am I still on the path going home?” Our answer should always be yes.
