Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16 NKJV)

It is amazing to see Christians who spend almost all of their lives serving the Lord. We have witnessed some of the brethren on wheelchairs, others are assisted or carried inside the Church to attend Worship Services. I have even seen Christians who had cancer, too weak to sit in pews so they lie down to attend the service. I know of an old Christian woman who lost her hearing and sight. She sits near the loud speaker to hear the sermon and psalms. If we compare ourselves to those Christians in their zeal to serve the Lord, how do we fare? Let us thank the Lord that we are still strong, that we can go to Church without pain and discomfort due to sickness. We still have our voice to lift up to sing and pray. We still have have our sight and hearing to receive the words and be blessed by the sight of our brethren in our assembly. Let us serve the Lord while we can–while we still have the opportunity and capability to do so. The time will come when we cannot go to Church to sing, pray, hear the sermon, and be with the brethren. Aging is certain. It is as sure as death. Our bodies will suffer due to wear and tear of the regimen of life and finally give up. Let not our immortal soul give up on our life with the Lord. Through the years, our souls know more of our God. Our spirit is renewed day by day by His words. His love is strengthens us until we come to completion when we are ready to face death, waiting for resurrection. The old decayed body will be replaced with a heavenly and perfect one, suitable to live for all eternity. This will be given to us to serve the Lord and enjoy Him forever.
