Vindicate me, O Lord, For I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the Lord; I shall not slip. (Psalms 26:1 NKJV)
One requires great motive to ask God to judge him and to prove his innocence. We approach with a humble heart and not with a proud mind. Like David, we can ask God to vindicate us from those who sin against us. God knows everything, even the innermost recesses of our heart. Integrity is a character of true Christians. One example is David. He had the chance to kill King Saul but did not do so. He remained faithful to Saul, even fought battles with Him, though Saul wanted to kill him. In the same way, we are to remain faithful even in the midst of temptations. Though people around us do us harm, we remain upright in the sight of men and God. Integrity is shown in the presence of pressure coming from outside sources. Integrity is the inner condition of faithfulness and uprightness. If we trust God, we obey His commands, wherever, whenever, and whatever the situations we are in and whoever we are with. In the world, the saints are with the sinners, but God will come to separate the weeds from the good plants, the tares from the wheat, the saints from the sinners. When Christ comes back, He will vindicate all of us and reward us with the crown of glory and life. Therefore, let us not slip from doing our religious duties. Let us move to a higher level of service motivated by our growing love and trust in Christ, our Lord God and Savior.
