The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose. (Isaiah 35:1 NKJV)
An expedition along the desert is a gloomy, tedious, and tiresome journey. Sometimes our life’s journey seems like that. We feel overwhelmed and exhausted because of the things that happen around us. No matter how hard we try to go on, it seems the journey has no end. Moreover, as we go along, it becomes heavier and harder. We feel alone, but we cannot stop because stopping means the end of everything. For us, quitting is not option. In such cases, the invaluable thing you need to have with you across the desert is water. Loss of water can lead to extreme dehydration, leading to death. Water will keep us alive. It gives us hope, courage, and strength. God is greatly similar to a well of water. When we have God, we have life. He has the Word to keep us alive. God is sufficient alone for us to keep on going, to quench our thirst. Moreover, He is the bread that satisfies our hunger. He is also a shadow that gives relief to our souls under the scorching heat of the sun. He is the fire that gives us heat to endure the cold of the night. He is everything. He is the answer to our needs in our life’s journey. Rejoice and be glad. The water of life, the bread of life, the everlasting light, and the cloud of His glory follows us until we reach our destiny, the Promised Land which is Heaven.
