I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13 NKJV)

Desperation is a killer of hope. Think of David’s life episode as a warrior against numerous, mighty, and formidable enemies; as a fugitive against Saul, the father of his beloved friend Jonathan; and, being a father with loggerhead siblings. If we will put ourselves in David’s situation, I think we may lose hope and would say this world is the land of the dying rather than land of the living – but David did not. He was well confident in God and sincerely believed that God will defend and protect him and will fix his life. That is David’s extraordinary, outstanding, and very deep conviction on God’s goodness, whatever situation in life he was in. So dear brethren, whatever you are facing today – do not falter. Your faith, hope, and love is God’s gift for you to uphold. It is a balm of the Holy Spirit to calm your soul and mind. We must believe to see and not see to believe that in an appointed time, by patiently waiting, God will raise us up and we shall enjoy and delight with the fulfillment of His promises
