For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died. (2 Corinthians 5:14 NKJV)
Our God, the Lord Christ Jesus, loves us – this truth will never change. No matter where we came from, what were we before and what we will be, He loves us. He loved us so much that He – the Most High, the Almighty One – humbled Himself, manifested in the flesh, took the low position of a slave, and sacrificed Himself by dying on the cross; all these for the sake of showing His love to us. His sacrifices should make us realize that we should be doing our very best to live according to His will. He died for us so that we could live for Him. Living for Him means letting our old selves die. Although at times, we do things against His will, He always gives us chances to repent and make up for our short-comings. Though our sins will not remain unpunished, He lets our mistakes go unpunished most of the time not because He wants us to think that He is tolerating us but because He wants us to feel His great love through the opportunities He gives, for us to repent and successfully live by His will. Whenever we are tempted to sin, let us always remember the great love and sacrifice of our Lord Christ Jesus, which took us from darkness to the path guided by His marvelous light, towards the everlasting life.
