“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:28 NIV)
Adam and Eve had the power to rule the earth. They were god-like – they were godly. God commanded them to reproduce, fill the earth with godly men to rule. Physically they reproduced, but failed spiritually because of sins. Men cannot reproduce if they are dead. We were sinners and were dead but through baptism, we were born again – created anew in Christ. We are now spiritually alive and have the power to increase as people of God, destined to rule the earth. We have His command: Go and make disciples of all nations. Go bear fruits and multiply. Fill the earth and rule.
