The Covenant of God states in part that “you shall be my people and I shall be your God”. The Covenant was first given to Abraham and was then confirmed to Isaac and Jacob. God has given His name to His Covenant people. Also, He is known as the God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob. Jacob was named Israel afterwards which subsequently became the nation of God. The Covenant Promise is that God will multiply Abraham’s seed through Isaac, Jacob and Israel. Unfortunately Israel was unfaithful to God. They were separated from God and His Covenant because they turned to other gods. Thus, based on the Eternal Plan, the Most Holy Church has become the Covenant Nation. God’s name was given as an emblem of that Covenant. Scriptures says that the God of Abraham is the God of Jerusalem. The Heavenly Jerusalem is the one referred to and that is the Most Holy Church of God in Christ Jesus, bearing the name of the Covenant God. Praise the Lord forever. Amen.
