Power Point No. 273

But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever. (Psalms 52:8 ASV)

A good seed planted in a good soil produces great harvest. We are the good seeds and the Church is the good soil. What is expected of us is to produce good fruits. We should bear fruits of righteousness. Why seeds do not bear fruits, or if ever they produce, they are sour and not satisfying, is because of the weeds and rocks in their hearts. Fasting is one of God’s ways in cleaning us of the weeds and rocks so that He can have a great harvest. We tend to focus on God during our fast. We meditate on His words to see what deviations we do in our lives against His words of truth. We let our spirit overcome the flesh. Most of all, we meditate on God’s love. During our fast, we intensify our love for Him and for each other. Agape love then fills our heart and pours out to others who are not saved. This Agape love pushes us to share the gospel to others that they may also know the Lord and be saved.
