Power Point No. 184

  • July 3, 2018

His glorious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy. (Colossians 1:11 CEV)

True happiness is not the absence of suffering rather, it is having joy in the midst of troubles and tribulations. The heart is filled with peace rendered by steadfast faith and hope in our Lord God, Jesus Christ. It is the fruit of the spirit in us that lives by the Spirit of God. We are shielded by the Spirit from anxiety and stress due to the things, people, events, and all other external forces that press us. Instead of worrying, we are given the power to be patient and strong, to endure and to overcome. It is a great mistake if you seek true happiness in the things of the world. Anything that comes from this world – money, fame, and knowledge – ends. Therefore, they give temporary joy. Things of this world are not genuine. They are not true. Living by the Spirit and walking in the path of righteousness and truth, gives you the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
