By your patience possess your souls. (Luke 21:19)
Abba, our God and King, You are the savior of our souls. We were miserable sinners when You found us. We were certainly dead because of our sins. We were not worthy to stand before Your holiness. Nevertheless, because of Your great love, You have made us holy and You justified us. You robed us with glory, we who are nothing, so our souls became worthy offerings to You. This is what we longed for—to present ourselves a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to You. But our enemies keep on placing temptations in front of us. Our enemy is temptation and it is very eager to fool us, whom You have chosen. It is useless if we will endure these temptations on our own. We are indeed weak against the temptations of our deceitful enemy. But we believe that You, oh, God, are with us, who are faithful to You. If You are with us, no one can defeat us. We can triumph over any temptations of our enemy who wants our souls to return to death. That is why, our God, we pray that You help us be faithful to You, so You can always be with us. With this, we can keep the glory You have bestowed upon us and can present ourselves worthy of Your promise, the eternal life with You in heaven. We wholeheartedly pray these through Your name, Christ Jesus, our only God and Savior. Amen.
