Let Us Pray No. 273

  • September 30, 2021

And whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the LORD, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it. (Leviticus 22:21)

Abba, Everlasting Father, we offer ourselves to you as a sacrifice of praise and worship. We should be perfect to be accepted. Knowing this, Lord, we humbly come near you in prayer asking you to forgive our sins. Sin separates us from you. However, you have given us mercy and grace and delivered us from sins. Your merciful heart spared us from the curse of sin and of the penalty of eternal death. Likewise, we have received your grace when you chose us to be your children, forgave our sins and made us heirs to your promises. Your election and salvation are the things we do not deserve but you gave them to us for free although it cost you your blood. You offered yourself as a peace offering which brought us into a loving relationship with you. You are unblemished, holy and perfect as a peace offering. You as an offering is perfect that there is no need for a yearly sacrifice to atone for the sins of your people. Lord, it is according to your sovereign free will that you did all that for our salvation. We truly have Peace because you are the Prince of Peace who gave yourself for us. Your peace will stay with us for as long as we obey your commands. Lord, thank you for the peace in our hearts. ‘Though the world around us is chaotic and full of sorrows, we shall have inner peace, genuine peace, which you offered as the fulfillment of your Covenant of Grace and Mercy. Today, Lord, we present ourselves before you as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to your by serving you, as proof of our love for you. Amen.
