But that’s not all! We gladly suffer, because we know that suffering helps us to endure. And endurance builds character, which gives us a hope. (Romans 5:3-4 CEV)
The rainbow was first seen after the flood in the time of Noah. Since then, rainbows appear when it rains and at the same time the sun shines. The rainbow is a covenant sign that God will not destroy the earth with flood. It is a sign of a new beginning, of a new hope and a bright a future. The same is true in our Christian life. There can be storms of trials, strong winds of troubles that make us bend. They bring sorrows and sufferings. However, along with them comes our enduring hope in God, for His salvation and protection. We endure and persevere to go on in our Christian walk towards perfection, with the hope that in the end, we shall reach our goal of eternal life.
