Gold Dust No. 303

If we who are in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied. (1 Corinthians 15:19 AMP)

Most people spend almost all of their time, strength, effort and knowledge to gain things that are seen or, in other words, material things. People work their whole life to gain wealth, recognition, wisdom and power but in the end, all of these will become meaningless because all of these will fade away. This is the same with some Christians who serve the Lord because they are just expecting material things as a reward for their service. These are the people who come to Church and pray whenever they need something from God. It does not mean that God would not provide us our material wants and needs. Of course He will. But God’s promises are way greater and incomparable than that. He promised us a thousand years to reign with Him all over the world when we can enjoy the things that we deprived ourselves of for the sake of our service to God. After that, we will be brought to heaven to live eternally with the Most High God. Do not serve God just because of the things in this life. Serve Him because we desire to acquire things which are unseen, for those will last forever.
