Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41 NKJV)
We are in the world but not of the world. We belong to the family of God and our citizenship is in heaven. Here we are strangers. We are always tempted to love the things of the world and forget about heaven. The flesh is easily attracted to the cares of the world since we are in the world. Heaven seems far that the spirit becomes less attracted to it. Thus, the Lord teaches us how not to lose heaven and to overcome temptations. KEEP WATCHING, KEEP PRAYING. We should always be on alert mode because the devil is just around the corner, waiting to victimize us. Be cautious in our walk, so as not to be trapped by his lies and fall in sin. Observe what is happening in the world. Know and see the signs that the end of the world is coming quickly and evil will be punished. Christ will come and our crown of glory and righteousness will be given to us. Therefore, we should be steadfast in our hopes and strong in our faith. Let us face all temptations knowing that we can overcome them. No temptations are given to us greater than what we can bear. But face and fight them with God as our strength. Stay connected to Him as we face temptations. FOUR STEPS TO VICTORY IS THIS: SUBMIT YOURSELF TO GOD, RESIST THE DEVIL and he will flee from you, DRAW YOURSELF NEAR TO GOD SERVE HIM FAITHFULLY, and STRIVE TO LIVE HOLY AND RIGHTEOUSLY. (JAM 4:7-8). Let us pray: Dear Lord, lead us not into temptations but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
