Therefore, if food is a cause of their falling, I will never eat meat, so that I may not cause one of them to fall.(1 Corinthians 8:13 NRSV)

My soul knows for sure that God loves me as much as He loves you. He gave His all, Himself, His life for us. Serving Him is what we can do for Him. It is our aim to serve Him faithfully. How? One way is to serve one another in the spirit of love. What we do to the least and the weakest of a brother, we do it for God. As Christ denied Himself, we should also deny ourselves for the sake of a weak brother. We should not be the reason a brother stumbles in his faith, doubts our Christian faith and goes back to a sinful life because of our being inconsiderate and intolerant. Do not be like Cain who said, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” We know that he slew his brother Abel. He was cursed all his life. Yes, you and I are keepers of our brothers. We should look after their welfare before ours. Though we have the liberty to do as we want as part of our religious freedom, we should restrain ourselves if a brother will be hurt or fall. Love is of foremost importance before freedom. It is the greatest of all the Christian virtues. Let us decide and be united in one thing, my brethren. Let us sacrifice for the sake of a brother. Let us not be the cause of anybody’s falling in his faith. It is better for him who offends his brother to hang a millstone on his neck and be thrown into the sea. That is how bad it is.
