Reverence for the LORD gives confidence and security to a man and his family.(Proverbs 14:26 GNB)

If you fear God, you will obey His will. This fear of God is reverential fear. It aims to honor and please God. To obey Him is to serve Him. Thus, it draws us closer to Him rather than escape from Him as if one is scared of Him. Drawing closer to God by serving Him is what true religion is all about. It is returning to God, having peace with Him after being separated due to a life of disobedience. When we do our religious duty, we are confident that God will support and deliver us from harm. We feel secured not because of what we have, who we are or who we are with. Our security is in Him, knowing that we are surrounded by Him. Evil has to come to Him before it can come to us. He is our shield, our rock of salvation. He is our strength and our happiness. Serve Him and be blessed. But there is another reason why we should: serve Him for the sake of our children and our children’s children. He will bless us and our seeds after us. Our children will learn and know the true God as they see us faithfully serving God. They will have the fear of God. We shall, as a family on earth, become a family of God, blessed here and for eternity. Come now together with all the saints to worship and experience the spirit of God and be blessed.
