Gold Dust No. 233

Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me. (Matthew 19:21 NKJV)

No man is an island. God saw that Adam was lonely and He gave Eve as his companion. God commanded that we love our neighbors as ourselves. In the eyes of the Lord, perfection is attained when we communicate, interact and live with others. Iron sharpens iron. We learn from each other. We grow and develop with the help of others. Each one of us has our God-given gifts to contribute. These talents should be used to strengthen one another. In Church, we have our Covenant of Agape Partners. They are our objects of love. We learn to love each other the Agape way, divine and sacrificial, true and everlasting. We call it Applied Agape. When we do something good to each other, we do it to God. If we cannot love one another, how can we love God whom we do not see? Sell your belongings and give to the poor for you to be perfect. It is not your riches that are given importance. It is the act of sacrificial love. You are blessed to have riches for you to be a blessing for others. You are a steward of the graces of God, be faithful to share with the needy. The most valuable treasure we have is our faith. Share your faith with others and be perfect.
