Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction.Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelations 2:10 NRSV)
Faith is like gold. To test gold’s authenticity, expose it to fire. If it does not get burned or changed in color, then that gold is real. Moreover, after you expose it to fire, you might notice that the gold shines brighter and appears to be more wonderful than before. Our faith, now and then, shall be tested through the sufferings and trials that we experience in life. Every time we encounter problems, do not ask God, “Of all people, why me?” Instead, tell yourself that all of these are just trials and you will prove your faith to God no matter what. Sometimes, the trials you face might seem impossible to conquer. Remember, God will not give us any burden we cannot carry. Whenever in doubt, keep in mind that God entrusted your problems to no one but you because God knows that you are the one who is strong enough to endure it. He created you a winner. You are designed for victory. Just endure all trials and sufferings because in the end, like gold, you will shine as God’s champion of faith and as a reward, you shall receive the crown of life.
