If you obey God, you will have something to leave your grandchildren. If you don’t obey God, those who live right will get what you leave. (Proverbs 13:22 CEV)
What will you give your children as inheritance? Most people prepare material things for their children’s future: money in the bank, house and lot, good education and many others. Know that these are all temporary things. We have seen parents who were able to give their children treasures for their future, unfortunately, they lost their inheritance. The best inheritance we can give them is what we give them daily: yourself, your love and care, your thoughts and your way of life. If they see you obeying God faithfully and your life is according to the gospel of Christ, they will develop the same faith and will serve the Lord God just like you. They will live righteously and in the beauty of holiness. Then heaven’s door will open for them and pour the blessings in their life. Teach our children the value of serving God, that more than material wealth are the treasures in heaven which lasts for eternity. Therefore we should make sure that our children inherit our faith in God, the love for God and our righteousness and truth.
