A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. (Luke 6:40 ESV)
Being Disciples of Christ, each of us is a work in progress. Christ is our Teacher, our Master. He is a perfect master who served as a perfect example of an obedient and faithful Son of God. He showed us that our aim should be to glorify God and to be happy in serving Him. We should go on to be like our Master. We should desire to be perfectly like Him. As disciples, we can only be perfect when we completely have His knowledge and live the way He lived. If we are perfected, we are like Him, able to teach others of the knowledge and life of being Disciples of Christ. We can guide others to Christ our Lord, for His glory and for their enjoyment of being with Him as well.
