For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. (Psalms 112:6-7 ESV)
Good news? Bad news? They are all the same! No one knows what the end would be except the Almighty God who permits everything to happen. Has God been surprised of anything that happens in the world? Of course not! He knows everything. So is the righteous man who stands firm to hear even bad news. He is not swayed nor shaken by any circumstances. He is like a ship anchored in deep waters withstanding the troubled seas of life and not being tossed to and fro by winds and waves. The anchor is our hope in God whom we trust, knowing that He cares and loves us and that He will help us through and through. We are firmly established in Christ, the rock of our salvation. Now is the time to work and to serve, to live righteously before God and men. Soon the reward will come, for our deeds cannot be forgotten by the Righteous and Holy One. We may pass away, but His blessings will also be to our children, grandchildren and to the children of our grandchildren, etc. Yes, we shall be remembered forever for our righteousness. This alone should motivate us to continue serving and working for the Lord.
