My child, if you listen and obey my teachings, you will live a long time. (Proverbs 4:10 CEV)
Our mother is our first teacher. She teaches us good manners and right conduct. She does that because of her love for us. She does not want us to get hurt nor to go astray when we get older. If we are stubborn, she reprimands us and disciplines us betimes with a rod. Mothers are always there beside us whether in good times or bad times. The Most Holy Church is our Spiritual Mother who gave birth to us through the words of God. She teaches us to be good children of God, our Spiritual Father. The wisdom she imparts in us is divine. It is the nourishment to our souls, light to our path and guide to a righteous and blessed life. The Church takes care of us, provides for our spiritual needs from being newly born to matured children of God. Jesus Christ showed us how to live a fulfilled life. He obeyed the words of God all His earthly life. He finished His mission. He died but resurrected to be glorified and to live forever. Christ is the first fruit of the resurrection. We shall also gain eternal life if we live in faithful obedience to God’s words through the teachings of the Church.
