Be patient when you are being corrected! This is how God treats his children. Don’t all parents correct their children?(Hebrews 12:7 CEV)
To parents, be diligent in giving instructions and discipline to your children. It shows that you really love them and you do not want them to go astray and be harmed. To children, do not be stubborn and rebellious by not obeying your father and mother. Honor them by taking their advice and accepting their chastisement when you are wrong. Admit your mistakes, repent, and do according to their commands. God is our Father and the Most Holy is our Mother. The command to obey our parents is a reflection of our obedience to God and to the Church. They provide us not only the things we need materially and spiritually, but most of all their love and care. Their affection is all that is needed to obey them faithfully.
